• My mother asked me to look out for a friend's daughter at LaGuardia today and described her as a "college sophomore in a puffy black jacket and Ugg boots." I swear on the Pegasus Galaxy that there were no fewer than seventeen college age girls in puffy black jackets and Ugg boots. It is, apparently, the University of Michigan uniform.

  • Last night, [livejournal.com profile] eleanor_lavish cooked me an FANTASTIC baked ziti dinner complete with garlic bread and lots and lots of wine. [livejournal.com profile] schuyer was, as expected, a super co-host and I had the pleasure of seeing [livejournal.com profile] hetrez again. Thank you for a wonderful night, ladies!!

  • Meme!! Ask Me My Fandom Opinion

    1. Ask me one fandom-related question in the comments. This can be fandom specific, general, or about fandom/lj stuff/fic etc. in general. Any fandom of mine.
    2. Just one question, please, but it can have sub-parts.
    3. That's it. It can be as normal or odd as you like.

My fandoms: BSG, SGA, SG-1, HP, CSI, SPN, West Wing, House.

  • Stargate commentaries get me through many long flights and, if you're not listening, I ask you why? WHY? For Martin Gero and Martin Wood and David Hewlett and Joe Flanigan and many, many others give damn good commentary. I've posted these before but here are some of my favorites, again, for the newly initiated:
Seige Parts I- III, Runner, Brotherhood, Sanctuary )

  • If you aren't watching BSG for the kick-ass content, this should be reason enough )
The demise of The Wayne Brady Show was a true daytime tragedy but, fortunately, it lives on in the form of wmv files. They're low quality but it's Shanks and it's RDA and it's absolutely worth it. RDA with his daughter made my heart explode. And Shanks...well, it's Shanks. Both clips are circa 2003.

RDA on Wayne Brady: Part I (11.3mb), Part II (8.4mb)

I read an awful lot of J/D these days and no one does it like Komos. The newest is All In, a Lost City Part I interlude. I don't know how she did it again but it's just. right. And, somehow, I originally missed, Syllepsis where Sara turns up and, oh, it's gooooooood. If you like J/D - even a little - you have to read both of these stories.

ETA: I'm only 3 1/2 hours from Chicago and Justin's 8/22 show is very tempting. (Very, very, very tempting.) But I'm traveling constantly between 8/3 and 8/21 with a home goods move in the middle and I think I've actually reached a point where the pure joy of the show is actually overshadowed by my need to simply stop going places.
Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] timberho for the file (and [livejournal.com profile] jawbreakers for breaking up the songs)!

The zip contains Justin's live performances of the following songs on BBC Radio One:
Like I Love You
Rock Your Body
Sexy Back
Cry Me A River

(SexyBack is awesome. Oh, my god, he's so GOOD.)

Go! Watch! Love!

ETA: The SG-1 epsiode, Meridian, was on SciFi tonight and, even thought I know what episode it is, I'm forcing myself to wait and watch it in order. (Which will be FOREVER from now as I'm only upto 02x19.)

ETA2: Hi-res photos from Friday night's event popped up here. They all look so great!
The results are in. First, it's off to the Riviera with Grissom. After that, Sheppard and I will hit up the first seedyy motel we come across. Damn good times.

I'm through season 1 of SG-1 and, at first, I thought I was all, "Daniel!" *swoon* But now I find I'm, "Daniel!" *swoon* "Jack!" *swoon*

Richard Dean Anderson kicks ass.

I've been devouring fic but, as Kiffle alluded to recently, none of it wows me. I consistently find the characterizations are off which surprises me when so many McKay/Sheppard stories get the characterizations dead on. Not that that stops me from reading and reading and reading.

(As I simultaneously watch from the first ep on, read fic, and the reruns on Sci-Fi, wikipedia is coming in very handy. It makes sense, for example, of the Tok'ra.)

Michael Shanks appeared on ESPN/Cold Pizza along with Luc Robitaille to discuss the NHL Playoffs. The file is not high quality and 99.9% of what he said was pure gibberish to me but he sure is enthusiastic about his hockey. It's a bit endearing.

Michael Shanks/ESPN Cold Pizza - wmv, 18mb (5:45), right click/save

Not to be forgotten in all the talk of SG-1, is Mr. Joe Flanigan who is beyond delicious in these hi-res photos.

The Flanigan/Shanks combo may actually kill me in November.

ETA: Daniel is a slave at a meeting of the System Lords. OMG.
I've spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about the end of last night's CSI season finale... )

This morning The Early Show aired a segment about the finale that featured interviews with Billy Petersen, Jorja Fox, Marg Helgenberger, and George Eads. I adore what Eads has to say about Grissom.

A season finale poll )

Crooked_halo8 also has a fun CSI poll here. (Season finale spoilers included.)

I should really head into work now. ;)

The story goes like this: [livejournal.com profile] eleanor_lavish, [livejournal.com profile] rossetti, [livejournal.com profile] thegayboyfriend and [livejournal.com profile] schuyler fall in love with Franz Ferdinand, take me to a concert, ensure I fall in love, and teach me to spread the gospel. So I come bearing video clips that [livejournal.com profile] rossetti took at the April 13th show at Hammerstein Ballroom. The clips are fabulous and great quality. Download and share in the love!

A CSI spoiler for 06x22 that I stumbled upon over at IMDB. *meep* )

The new issue of Dreamwatch has an interview with Richard Hatch. I haven't watched episodes 02x19 or 02x20 of BSG yet so I didn't read the article but here are scans for anyone who's interested.

PS. Josh/Donna icon from [livejournal.com profile] theantimodel. Because they're canon.

ETA: The CSI spoiler is also noted in comments.

This was the moment I fell in love with Spencer Reid: )

I loved tonight's Criminal Minds though I probably shouldn't keep watching the show home alone. (Oh, and Rufus Wainwright's Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah is officially the most OVERPLAYED background music in episodic television.)

Screencaps of the new Battlestar Galactica magazine are achieved. See?

Staying true to my handy, dandy poll, here's a link to a 28mb zip file that includes 27 pages of interviews with Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, Michelle Forbes, Tahmoh Penikett, and Aaron Douglas:

Download! (Commenting if you download is lovely.)

I love BSG a whole, whole lot.

Rob Lowe leads 'West Wing' reunion!!!

I just. Sam.

I DVR Supernatural and watch occasionally. I was tripped up by the hair and assumed I'd be a Sam fan but it turns out my heart belongs to Dean. If only the show didn't insist on competing with House and now CSI. The woe! DVR it will be.

[Poll #682366]

And it's almost the end of my bandwidth cycle so I'm sharing this unlocked - The SGA cast and writers panel discussion from the the Comic Con 2004 DVD. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ship_recs for the file.

Client dinner tonight at a local Italian place. I'm already craving pasta. And wine. And some really good bread.

Already, my new ipod has turned me into a songvid junkie. They are perfect for this thing.

Anyway, on Thursday night I mentioned that I thought Nick was, for the first time, actually attractive.

Here's the proof. It must be the combination of the hair and the glasses. )

I wouldn't be me if I didn't also include caps of Grissom... )

A few of the rest of the gang. Catherine looked gorgeous in this episode. )

I love the whole lot of them.

And, for anyone who's interested, Heath & Jake presenting at the SAG awards. - 4.9mb, wmv, right click/save. Thanks to Liz W for the file.

I'm forgoing the Superbowl for the BSG miniseries. It really wasn't a tough choice.

It's November 30th and I have a bit of bandwidth to spare so I'm posting this unlocked in my ongoing attempt to transform my friends and family into House/Wilson obsessed zombie monkeys spread the love of all things House.

Now I should seriously consider getting in the shower because I'm supposed to leave for work in eleven minutes. Mornings need to come later. I somewhat desperately wish my work day started at 9am.

ETA: My bandwidth is used up.
Our office was officially closed today but I got called in and, wow, the day was crap. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so paranoid about detailing things like why today was crap but I am so, instead, I'm going to do my best to turn off my brain until it starts again tomorrow morning. I can't even wear my "Department of Magical Law Enforcement" medallion these days.

* [livejournal.com profile] mctabby kicked this year's Harry Potter friending frenzy into gear yesterday. It's already at 4500+ comments and LJ's limit is 5000 so, if you want to play, you're running out of time.

* Similarly, [livejournal.com profile] marishna is hosting a multi-fandom friending frenzy for those of us looking to expand our friends list in more than one fandom.

* This fun interview with George Eads was posted on [livejournal.com profile] oh_no_nicky. He's so humble and grounded!

* [livejournal.com profile] idlerat created this cracked out and absurdly endearing SGA screen-cap comic: John and Rodney Love Mice

* [livejournal.com profile] trixiesfic wrote SGA! Battle Hangover McKay/Sheppard. Pre-slash, post-seige. John thinks there are a hundred platitudes he can offer-- they didn't die in vain, war is like that, they signed up knowing they might not make it back-- but Rodney's not military and it's all bullshit anyway. Instead, John does what he can, digging his fingers into the worst of the knots in Rodney's neck, and smiling when Rodney groans and drops his head forward. It's a lovely read.

* And, OMG, SQUEEEEE! [livejournal.com profile] iscaris is writing a Harry Potter/CSI crossover! Chaos Theory Harry/Draco, Gil/Nick, PG-13. "That black haired kid, he gave his name as..." Brass consulted his notebook, "Harry Potter. He says he's seventeen. No ID to back it up, though. He was surprisingly cooperative – more than can be said about his blond pal, who refused to give us his name and kept calling me a filthy muddle, of all things. I mean, really. I'm not the world's most organized person, but was that necessary?" This is the best. idea. EVER!

* [livejournal.com profile] charlidos created a mpg of the SGA DVD behind the scenes look at the making of Seige I and Seige II which I uploaded to share the love.

Mission Directive: The Siege part 1 and 2 112mb, mpg

* I also have an LJ question. Do paid accounts get 100 userpics? I got one of those e-mails saying that my 100 userpics are running out but I thought that all paid users get 100 icons. Am I remembering incorrectly? I forgot that I have a permanent account. I'm going to assume the e-mail was automatic and an error.

ETA: AHAHAHAHAHAHA! abcnew.com put together video clips of reporters falling and flailing as they try to report in the midst of Wilma.
