How much do your off-line friends & family know about your involvement with on-line fandoms and/or slash and what motivates you to share (or not share) this part of your life?

I got to work today at 8am and now it feels like the day is flying. I'm not sure how it can possibly be noon already. But I'm rested. I feel like a different person.

dj_writes is on his way to NYC. I forgot to leave his name with the doorman so we're going to have to find a creative way to get him into my apartment while I'm at work. My apartment is a mess. If DJ hadn't visited before, I'd be extremely embrarrassed. Because, really. It's a big mess.

it's seeped into my pores...

dj_writes and I had Tai for dinner and I took him on a tour of the B&N newsstand. Saturn style. I'm sure he appreciated the 20 minute education on the finer points of magazine management at Barnes & Noble. (Seriously? You don't want to go into B&N or Borders with me. Because I'm a huge magazine dork and I'll insist on the tour. And sometimes I take photos to send to publishers. It's not often American Cheerleader Junior has front shelf placement.)

This morning I asked, "How much do your off-line friends & family know about your involvement with on-line fandoms and/or slash and what motivates you to share (or not share) this part of your life?" It was one of my favorite questions. There were so many great answers from everyone and it really made me think about what I choose to share (and not share) with my friends and family. I think they may all be getting crash courses in slash in the near future. JoeC flatware for everyone!
