Just over a year ago, [livejournal.com profile] chasezed, [livejournal.com profile] stargems, [livejournal.com profile] chasezsshorty and I abandoned a place now lovingly referred to as "hell" and, shortly after, ended up here. It's been a heck of a year...one I never would have imagined. And I dig this place- for the sparkly and the pretty and the squee and the friendships and the doses of reality.

IT really is looking at the websites people visit and how frequently they're there. I don't know if they are tracking the NYC office but I wouldn't be surprised. I'm exempt from the "no internet" rule but that doesn't put me at ease. I'm not sure if they track by IP address or if they even know who's IP address are who's. I think this means that, effective now, I'm going to try to only check LJ and hotmail in the morning, at lunch, and after 5pm. (I still find all of this extremely annoying. I work crazy hours and I get my job done. So do my employees. Who are all salaried. Give us a break.)

Much less irritating but equally frustrating...I may have a ticket to tonight's Yankee game but I have an obligation that I can't cancel. I'm kind of hoping that the ticket doesn't come through because I can.not. pass up a ticket to a Yankees/Red Sox ALCS game.
I think this IT scare is a good thing. Check LJ in the morning. Check at lunch. Check after 5pm. It's amazing how much more productive I am during the day. Maybe I'll start working 10 or 11 hour days instead of 11 or 12 hour days. Huh.

[livejournal.com profile] crownzeal posted photos of JC from the OTL premiere and, when I looked through my photos from that day, I realized that the premiere was actually two years ago today. Ziegfield Theater. It was the first time I was ever in the presence of The Chasez. I don't think I had ever been so giddy in my entire life. I just went back and read through the e-mail I sent my friends about the evening and, holy hell, I was a crazy fangirl. I was so damn excited. (I'd gone to a Joey/Lance autograph signing at Macy's the day before and won the passes.) It's just such a great memory. I was out of my mind. For ever and ever after I told people that I went to the movies with JC.

I even took a completely intrusive photo of JC sitting in his seat.

I thought about posting the e-mail I sent to my friends after the premiere but it's too embarrassing. It's just awful. I was so out of my mind. I can hardly believe I wrote it. I was 25 going on 12.

And, really, I guess nothing's changed. Except that now I'm 27 going on 12.

[livejournal.com profile] embitca's book exchange worked. :)

Today, American Goods by Neil Gaiman arrived, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] evilprettykitty.

Stephen King says "Gaiman is a treasure house...we are lucky to have him."

[livejournal.com profile] evilprettykitty says, "This is a book I totally only started reading because it has a scene in one of my most favorite places. But SURPRISE! It was good!"

The book jacket says: "Shadow is a man with a past. But now he wants nothing more than to live a quiet life with his wife and stay out of trouble. Until he learns that she's been killed in a terrible accident.

Flying home for the funeral, as a violent storm rocks the plane, a strange man in the seat next to him introduces himself. The man calls himself Mr. Wednesday, and he knows more about Shadow than is possible.

He warns Shadow that a far bigger storm is coming. Add from that moment on, nothing will ever be the same..."

I really enjoy LJ mail.
