the sound of silence...unless it's the ballad...

Our air conditioner doesn't seem to work well past labor day so I tried sleeping with the window open. Big mistake. Huge. NYC is loud, man. I like sleeping to the sounds of the city but the decibel level shoots way up once I open my window. Don't people know it's bed time?

I had a very odd dream about an ex-boyfriend and his parents and my mom. I woke up to my alarm, hit snooze, and when I feel back asleep, the ex-boyfriend morphed into Lance. I think I'm a fan of Lance dreams.

New music Tuesday!

Basement Jaxx (Kish Kash) and Mandy Moore (Coverage) have been procured.

I certainly have my fair share of downloads on my computer but, for me, there's nothing like actually buying new music. It's so tangible. I love opening the package and reading the liner notes and checking out out the art on the CD and liner notes. I'm also all about supporting artists I like. I'll download to get a sampling or an advance listen but I'll almost always buy the CD, too.

I bounced all the way back from the Times Square megastore. Right past the man with the sign saying that America is damned and I should start repenting. And right into the man in front of Planet Hollywood who let me know that, this week only, they are giving away free ice water with the purchase of a meal.

Can't wait to listen to the rest of Kish Kash. I have #7 on permanent repeat. And Mandy Moore is on reserve for the subway ride home tonight.
