** The New York Post announced Gephardt as Kerry's running mate in this morning's paper. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's headline.

I like a Kerry/Edwards ticket though, to be fair, my vote would go to a Kerry/Big Bird ticket so my endorsement of his choice doesn't say much. It should be a fun debate, though. Actually, I imagine all of the debates will be a spankin' good time. Kerry/Bush. Edwards/Cheney. Bring it on.

** I'm back in the world of volunteerism. The LSA Foundation raises awareness about mental illness and provides resources for people suffering from Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Schizophrenia, Bulimia, Obsessive Complusive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Anorexia and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Their first annual 5K run/walk in Central Park is on Sept. 26th and I'm on the sponsorship committee. Truth be told, I hate sponsorship committees but the first meeting is this week and I'm going to give it a chance. Worst case, I'll ask if I can do something else to help.

I love that it's already Tuesday.

futons and frustrations and fic...

I had a horribly frustrating afternoon at work so I bought a futon. I probably would have bought a futon anyway, because they're practical and cheap, but I bought it today because retail therapy is a gift from God. Now I'll have somewhere for guests to sit when they're in my bedroom and somewhere for them to sleep when they're not welcome in my bed. Those of you who've been to my place understand that this was a dire need. It's being delivered on Thursday evening but I've already rearranged the rest of my furniture in anticipation.

snape100 is a Snape drabble community with weekly themes. This week, the theme is "Snape gets a new tattoo." There are some great contributions though I'm amused to see how many are either Lupin or Harry-centric.

Also HP related, aproposofnothin is trying to convince me to read Harry/Draco. I'm fighting the good fight. I don't want to like Draco. Maybe I'll read the pairing if Draco is a prat and leaves Harry all hurt and weepy at the end. I'm also considering reading a Harry/Ron fic. That's another pairing I swore I'd never touch. But at least I like Ron.

President Bartlett just won the election on Bravo. That means Sam's going to leave soon which makes me ache. The West Wing is not The West Wing without Sam. I'm sure Josh feels the same way.
