I was up at 4:30am and at Bryant Park by 5:30am. There were far more people out for Tim McGraw than I expected but I think 3/4 of them were from out of state. He had a great sound check and then, of course, the taped performances.

Tim! He's so fucking fantastic. Charming and handsome and talented and I could gush for the rest of the day.

Some more photos of Tim's soundcheck and performance )

The photos aren't as great as I hoped but I was too busy bouncing to focus.

[livejournal.com profile] mixedsignal...I got your text. You have voicemail!

[livejournal.com profile] newdaydawning...I recorded video of his sound checks of "Real Good Man" and "Live Like You Were Dying." I'll send you the links as soon as I upload them. I need to convert them to mp3's, too.

I can't believe I'm expected to focus at work today. Tim!
My mother's birthday is tomorrow so I'm off to Long Island tonight for cake at my aunt's house. I'm staying over the night and tomorrow my mother is dragging all of us to the beach. (And I say "dragging" because it takes forever to get ready, we don't get to the beach until 1pm, and then we stay until sunset. It's a process.) I think I'll bring GoF with me. I haven't read it in years and comments about ferrets on the set of the movie left me confused. I need a refresher.

I was going to mention the whole Florida thing to my mom this weekend but her birthday probably isn't the best time to bring it up.

I had a meeting today at Marvel and, besides the joy of cookies in the conference room, I was sitting across from a wall covered from floor to ceiling with X-Men character movie posters. Heaven! When I grow up I want a game room that I can decorate from ceiling to floor with sci-fi and fannish stuff. That conference room was inspiring.

[livejournal.com profile] velvetaj was asking for quotes for a student planner. This has always been one of my favorites: "The only special thing about you, Clyde Barrow, is your peculiar idea about love making which is no love making at all!" - Faye Dunaway as Bonnie Parker in Bonnie & Clyde. It's her delivery as much as the line. If you haven't seen the film, I highly encourage you to check it out. It's Warren Beatty at his best.
