Last week kicked my ass and next week promises more of the same so I'm doing my best to shut down my brain this weekend.

I just finished a fantastic SG-1 Jack, gen story: Walked Right Out of the Machinery by [livejournal.com profile] rydra_wong. It's long (73,000 words) and is AU following "Abyss." It's an ambitious story and a really interesting look at the Tok'ra but, more than that, it makes me miss Jack tremendously. SG-1 isn't quite SG-1 without Jack.

I'm also nearly through with season 3 of Boston Legal. Cut because I'm hopeful cranberryink will watch and I don't want to risk spoilers )

That's actually all I have to say except that Boston Legal = LOVE!

Tonight I'm going to a Purim party sponsored by a local synogogue's young professional group. It's a potluck at someone's house and I don't know anyone but I was recently inspired by [livejournal.com profile] arsenicjade to get more involved in my local Jewish community so off I go! But first, a nap.

Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] alittleblue! I hope there are many more Seedy Hotel Rooms in our future. Have a fabulous day!

The Purim party was a lot of fun. It was a nice group of people and I'm sure I'll join them for more events. In particular, I met a guy who's getting his PhD at Michigan in astrophysics. Ha! When I moved here I told my friends in FL that I was going to make some science friends. He (obviously) spends a lot of time in the astronomy building so, in exchange for borrowing my BSG dvds, he's going to take me to look at the stars. He also told me that the university undergrad astronomy group has open houses every other week and, according to the site, he's right. \o/ I really need to spend more time looking at the cool, free stuff happening in Ann Arbor.

I have nothing ambitious planned for tomorrow beyond brunch with friends and a trip to the gym. I'd enjoy Sundays so much more if they didn't precede Mondays.
