Tomorrow is Thursday which is followed by Friday which is the day Sci-Fi delivers more BSG! I've been waiting for more since March 26, 2007 and now more is here!!
Here's why I love BSG:
1) BSG feels relevant and real. I believe in these people and their struggles. Unlike any other Sci-Fi show I've watched, I can imagine myself in this world, with these people.
2) The Women of BSG. It's not just
that they're smoking hot. They're complex, strong and dynamic - probably the best cast of female characters ever developed on a single show.
3)
"When we fought the Cylons, we did it to save ourselves from extinction. But we never answered the question "Why?" Why are we as a people worth saving?...We decided to play God, create life. And when that life turned against us, we comforted ourselves in the knowledge that it really wasn't our fault, not really. You cannot play God then wash your hands of the things that you've created. Sooner or later, the day comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore." That quote, from the miniseries, resonates through the entire series. I don't think the writers have ever stepped away from that question, that idea, and, as a result, the series is presented in shades of grey. Everyone is flawed. Moral ambiguity abounds. In alternating heartbeats you pray for the fleet and then wonder if they deserve the fate they've been handed.
4) Adama & Roslin. (Also presented as Mary McDonnell and Edward James Olmos.) BSG has a stellar cast but they all pale in comparison to the electricity Adama & Roslin deliver on screen together.
5) This is it and I have no idea what's coming next! How will they find Earth? What will they find when they get there?
When, in Earth's history, will they get there? What is Starbuck's destiny? What is Baltar's fate? Who will survive? Who is the final cylon???
