A client called me sweetie today. A female client. And it annoys the hell out of me. I hate it when men call me sweetie. And, even more, I hate it when women do it. I always have. I find it condescending. If you respect me in the workplace, you do not call me sweetie.

Sweetie.
Honey.
Cutie.

Blah. I am not your daughter, your younger sister, or your pet. Talk to me with respect please.

So I told her not to call me sweetie. "S, please don't call me sweetie. Ever."

Just a personal pet peeve.
