Lovely night out with
rossetti and
jalfred. Our conversations covered a long list of topics...popslash, lotrips, harry potter, west wing, bush, clinton...but my favorite was our mutual squee over the original "The Parent Trap." I adore that movie (and the remake).
It's the oddest thing ever. My little sister is engaged. To be a wife. I understand that's the natural progression but the idea of it all is a bit staggering. She'll be 25 on June 4th so she's certainly not a kid but I keep thinking back to playing school and family trips and our fights and our childhood which is entirely wrapped up in each other. She's the most important person in my world. It's an adjustment to think about how our relationship will change. Or maybe it won't. Or maybe it will but it will be stronger.
Her fiance is a fantastic, caring, thoughtful, kind, funny, handsome guy. They're so in love and completely meant to be together and my sister deserves the joy and happiness I know he can bring her.
I was expecting to feel something about being the older, unmarried sister and I'm sure that will come at times. I've felt it before. But right now I keep thinking about how happy my sister sounded when she called to tell me yesterday. Pure joy. Elation, really. My sister's engaged.
For those of you looking to see MKA with smiles on their faces, check out the photos from their TRL appearance here. I've really got to see New York Minute.
And a bit of community pimpage...
rupert_daily. It's the hair. (I'm beginning to think that I have an honest to god hair fetish.)
Off to exercise before Mother's Day events. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
