new laptop!

stargems and I went to see Farenheit 9/11 last night and, by chance, were at the same show as trixiesfic and her friends. Our mexican dinner after the movie was the kind that only happens when multi-fandom fangirls collide for the first time. Between popslash, Buffy, HP, and a frightening foray into Legolas/Gimli, we had our bases covered. Fabulous night and, Trixie, it was great to finally meet you!


Obviously Michael Moore is biased. He has an agenda and he's not going to win any converts with his technique. That said, Farenheit 9/11 had poignient moments, farcical moments, and horribly sad moments when you realize just how far astray we've been led by our president. I hope the movie drives people to action. And, if Kerry wins in November, I hope he's up to the task.


Cel crashed at my place after the movie and, somehow, we ended up at CompUSA where a bought myself a spankin' new laptop. It was long overdue. I've been taking my work laptop back and forth between the office and home and I panic anytime my IT department pokes around in my hard drive. So now I've got one of my own. His name is James (I name everything. Long standing habit I can't break.) and he's a Toshiba Satellite A75-S2061. Pentium 4 processor. 60GB. 2.80GHz. Built in CD burner and DVD player. Huge screen. I love it. I spent 4 hours moving files and downloading files to the new laptop and I think it's set. I even got a firewire adapter to speed a up my i-pod transfers. I haven't treated myself to something like this in a long time!

Thanks stargems for being my partner in crime and enabling when it was needed. Thanks chased_amy for sending me the link again. And thanks to dj_writes and kirsch for the Maroon 5 love. The Germany set and acoustic set are loaded on my i-pod and I'm a happy, happy woman.
