**I finally closed my San Diego checking account and opened an account at the Bank of New York. I've moved to on-line banking/bill pay but sending payments to my credit card company this way makes me a little twitchy. I also don't understand why my "available balance" is greater than my "current balance." Shouldn't it be the other way around?
**I bought a new cell phone this week. It's small and pretty and has tons of great features. I want a new ring tone, though. Does anyone know where to go for free ring tone downloads? Perhaps the Harry Potter theme?
**It's restaurant week in NYC and Cel and I are going to Jean-Luc for dinner tonight. French food! But that's not why I want to eat at Jean-Luc. It's more an affinity for the name.
**One of the reasons I'm loyal to my grape man is that the store employees know me. It feels like a neighborhood shop. It is a neighborhood shop. If I don't have exact change they'll put they let me pay them another day. When does that happen anymore?
**Lots of happenings in NYC lately. Fervor over the plans for a new stadium on the west side. The RNC coming to town 8/30- 9/2. Clay Aiken in Bryant Park. Of the three, the only one I can live with is the stadium though the TV ads for and against are starting to get on my nerves. It reminds me of Prop C in San Diego a few years ago when the city wanted to build the new stadium for the Padres. There's so much special interest involved on both sides that it's hard to figure out what the true pros and cons are. Right now, I'm of the mind that the added revenue will, eventually, outweigh the costs.
Off to Borders in Columbus Circle with the new employee. Friday field trip!
