This morning I was going to post about new employees and how draining it is and how much I hate one on one training and sob, sob, sob but I'm glad I didn't because the new employee's first day was great. He's excited about the job, a very quick learner, and a good guy. I have a few inherited employees but he's the first new hire for the new department and, for the first time in a few weeks, I'm actually excited about the possibilities rather than overwhelmed by the new job and the responsibilities and pressure that comes with it. So that was good.
And, at lunch, I bought a printer/scanner all-in-one thing. I need to print the invitations to my sister's bridal shower and, rather than have them printed professionally, I decided to do it myself and, rather than use a friend's printer, I decided to buy one for myself. It's an HP PSC 2355 all-in-one printer-scanner-copier. I love it. I can finally print my digital photos. I haven't quite figured out how to print the bridal shower invitations because the paper is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and the printer keeps trying to center the printing in the middle of the printer as if it's an 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 sheet of paper even though I formatted in correctly. But that's beside the point for now. I'll tackle the printing tomorrow. Tonight I'll just print photos. And scan things. (Unless, of course, someone is a printing guru and knows how to fix this.)
Also part of today's goodness were the holiday cards I received from
lilysaid,
between_names, and
karasu_hime. I can't believe how creative you are. The cards were a huge bright spot in my day! :)
karasu_hime's card absolutely must be shard. It's Snupin art! Here's a tease...

And look at the little Scrooge!Snape drawing over the envelope seal. So precious!

Thanks again Karasu_Hime!
In the world of weird disclaimers, someone wrote a story and listed the pairings as follows: Pairing: HP/SS, HP/HG, implied HP/GW (sorry, I hate it too). I don't get it. If you hate the pairing, why write it only to include such a bizarre disclaimer? Just, you know, don't write it. (And, while you're at it, skip the HP/HG, too. HP/SS work quite well all by themselves. ;) )
between_names! Your gooey Jed/Leo chief-of-staff episode was just on Marathon Monday. *wibble* You can find me in my corner sobbing over the love.
