During the last three months of 2004, I got promoted, moved from NYC to Naples, FL, bought a home, bought a car, and adopted a cat. Never, in the deepest recesses of my imagination, did I imagine myself here at the end of this year. It's taught me to take risks, trust my instincts, and never depend on long term plans because life throws curve balls and I'd rather be ready for them than knocked out by them. I feel blessed and I'm grateful. All I can ask for in 2005 is more of the same and whatever it takes to achieve in my new job. I don't make resolutions but I am going to make a point to meet even more people in Naples and do what I can to avoid becoming a cat lady. Sally will make that tough but, really, she's not quite life partner material.
Had an absolutely delightful afternoon with
gjstruthseeker that consisted of fabulous fried food at a place down on the beach and conversation that was a perfect blend of work, school, men, and fandom. Now I'm mustering up the energy to head over to a friend's place for a New Year's Eve party. After 8 days of out of town guests, I anticipate being home by 11pm but at least one glass of wine with friends is called for.
Happy New Year!
