I had a wonderful afternoon. It has been too long since I visited The Met. The breadth and depth of the exhibits is incredible. My favorite Van Gogh is on exhibit: Wheat Field with Cypresses. Such a treat! I can never get enough of viewing Van Gogh's work. I love the range of emotions that come through in his paintings. They used to overwhelm me but I have developed a real appreciation over the years.
I also spent time in The American Wing, the Arms and Armor wing, and looking at Japanese, Korean, and Egyptian art. The Temple of Dendur is remarkable. Heiroglyphics will always astound me.
The only disappointment is that there were no paintings by Thomas Moran on display. I saw a large collection of his works at the National Gallery in WDC a few years ago and I've never forgotten it. Looking at his work on-line doesn't even begin to do him justice.
In other news, I got a haircut. 3 inches. More than I wanted. But it's straight right now. Actually, it's more along the lines of Jacklyn Smith's Charlie's Angels hair. I hope it's not too short when it's curly again.
I finished the first draft of my angry!JC fic for the Joey Challenge and sent it off for beta. It's quite NC-17. So, yeah. Glad the first draft is done.
