Here is my disclaimer to everyone before you go any further: If you click on the link below, you will find slashy goodness. More specifically, JoeC slashy goodness.

I know some of you want to stay away. You know who you are. Everyone else, enjoy.

This developed out of my many trips to see Rent and my overwhelming desire to see JC naked. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback in the development stage. (You also know who you are.)

I don't own them. No one pays me for this. Dream as I may, it's all fiction.

The car pulled up in front of the theater at 7:55 pm. JC hoped he had the timing right. He didn’t want to arrive too early and call attention to himself but he was anxious about getting to his seat in time. Dre was outside waiting for JC and lead him quickly to his seat in the third row. The calm in the theater was a far cry from the flash and glitz of Joey’s official opening and JC appreciated the opportunity to see Joey’s performance again, in this tone-downed atmosphere.

As JC waiting for the show to being, he overheard little bits of conversation:

“Do you think he’ll take a picture with me after the show?”

“Dear, what is that big metal contraption on the stage?”

“What about autographs?”

“Manley Pope is out again?”

“Sebastians’s better anyway.”

“I’ve never been this close to Joey!”

JC just giggled silently, appreciating this rare opportunity. He had a suspicion that a few young women in the audience recognized him but, fortunately, the people seated next to him were not among them. Nevertheless, JC was glad that Dre took this opportunity to watch the show from the audience in the seat next to him. JC also realized it was probably a good thing he’d be exiting the theater with Joey at the end of the night.

At last, Sebastian Arcelus walked on to the stage and the show began. It was all familiar- JC had seen the show two months earlier, but there was a different quality in the air, a different atmosphere on stage. The Joey that JC was watching perform had grown into the role in ways that astounded and moved JC. He commanded the audience with his presence. All at once, he was funny, honest, endearing, and tragic. Joey’s performance during “La Vie Boheme” left JC in a fit of giggles and he had to choke back tears during Joey’s rendition of “Halloween.”

This was the same Joey that JC had been watching perform for years but, somehow, this was different. Joey had a valuable place in ‘Nsync but everyone knew that JC and Justin were the front men. JC often wondered if the others were resentful, even though they said they weren’t, and now JC questioned how they ever could have relegated this talented man to background vocals. It was clear that Joey belonged on stage, front and center, and JC had never been more proud.

The show ended and JC joined the audience in a standing ovation. He and Dre quickly made their way to stage right where they were led backstage. JC waited patiently while Joey changed and observed the hectic hustle backstage as the crew prepared the stage for the next evening’s show. Finally, Joey appeared in his standard uniform- t-shirt, jeans, baseball hat. He was glowing. JC silently wondered if Joey had always radiated such energy or if he had Broadway to thank for it.

“Hey man! I’m glad you could make it tonight!”

“I’m in NY. Where else would I be?” And JC meant it. He couldn’t imagine visiting NY and missing a chance to see Joey perform. “You were fantastic, Joe. Really.”

“Thanks. All in a day’s work,” Joey grinned. “Let me take you backstage. This place is incredible!”

JC had received a brief tour of the backstage area back in August but, with all of the press and high profile audience members, the tour had been quick and rushed. He was looking forward to this opportunity for a private tour and a chance to explore Joey’s new environment.

Joey grabbed JC’s hand and dragged him down a flight of stairs to the green room. “I know it’s nothing flashy but can you believe how many people have been right where we are standing, waiting to go on stage and perform? Sometimes, I still can’t believe I’m part of it.” Joey pulled JC towards a wall of photographs. JC didn’t recognize most of the people in the pictures but Joey explained that they were photos of the different cast members who had appeared in Rent over the past seven years. It certainly put things in perspective and JC understood why this simple room could be so overwhelming for Joey.

The rest of the tour was quick; another look backstage at where the props were kept and a few minutes on the stage itself. Standing on the stage, JC couldn’t help but notice the intimacy of the theater. The stage was smaller than any stage ‘Nsync had performed on in the past few years and, of course, the theater had far fewer seats than any of their last few venues. It seemed comforting and frightening all at once. Again, JC looked at Joey with a bit of awe. He had done this. On his own. Joey wanted to perform on Broadway and he made it happen. Every night he stepped out on stage and connected with an audience, some of whom were experiencing Broadway for the first time simply for the chance to see Joey. Joey did this eight times a week and, most importantly, he did it well.

The two men stepped outside and JC headed directly past the barricades to Joey’s car. JC knew that there were some fans who would have loved to get his autograph but this was Joey’s time with the audience and his fans. He was content to sit back and watch.

JC watched from the window of the SUV as Joey patiently signed Playbills and took pictures with eager fans. He saw the look of delight on their faces as Joey made his way through the crowd and, for reasons he couldn’t explain, felt lucky that he was the one leaving with Joey.

After about 10 minutes outside, Joey climbed in the car with a sigh. “It’s hard, you know? I want to get to everyone but there’s never enough time.”

“You’re great, Joe. It’s cool that you take time to do this every night. You should see their faces.”

“It’s the least I can do. If my chicken scratch makes them happy, it’s all theirs.”

“Where to now?”

“C, it’s Tuesday night. You know the deal. Dancing and drinking at Suede. You’re gonna love this place, man.”

The car made it’s way downtown and pulled in front of one of New York City’s newest hot spots. Every Tuesday night Joey sponsored a party at Suede that had grown into a who’s who of celebrities and style. JC and Joey exited the car and made their way to the door, past the lines of people waiting to get into the club.

The music was loud, the crowd was beautiful and JC was ready to dance. As they made their way to the bar, JC noticed how the crowd parted slightly as Joey moved through the tight pack of people. This was Joey’s night and everyone knew it. The pride swelled and JC put a hand on Joey’s lower back. He leaned in and whispered, “I hope you know how proud I am. You’re an impressive man, Fatone.” Joey just chuckled, handed JC his drink and dragged him off to the dance floor.

The beats were hypnotic and JC and Joey fell into a groove. Others came and went on the dance floor; some danced with JC, some danced with Joey but the two stayed in close proximity, both enjoying each other’s company. The crowd was getting thicker on the dance floor and the concept of personal space was all but forgotten. JC told himself that he was dancing pressed up against Joey to avoid getting stuck with a nameless stranger but the burning in his stomach told him something altogether different. So did his hardening cock which he tried, unsuccessfully, to will into submission.

“This is Joey”, he thought to himself. “Snap out of it.” But it wasn’t that easy. He knew that Joey had experimented with men in the past but nothing was ever serious. JC just always assumed that Joey liked sex. Period. So if it happened to be a man every once in a while, so be it. But JC knew that was different than finding yourself in a club with your one of your best friend’s erections pressed against your thigh.

JC tried to move away; anything to break contact with Joey before he embarrassed himself. He started to step back into the crowd but Joey’s hand grabbed his wrist. “Stay.”

JC stilled for a moment and then began to dance again, slowly. He was still pressed tightly against Joey, Joey’s hand still on his wrist. JC didn’t know what this was or if it was anything at all but he felt a tension and electricity in the air and he didn’t want to break the moment. Joey’s hand moved to the small of his back and JC pressed in tighter. He let out a small moan as Joey moved against him and dared himself to look at Joey. When he did, he saw a look in Joey’s eyes that must have mirrored his own.

“Let’s get out of here.” JC wasn’t sure he heard correctly but received the confirmation he needed when Joey laced his fingers though JC’s and pulled him towards the exit.

The car was right outside and Joey’s driver was always ready to leave as soon as Joey said the word. He also knew better than to ask Joey about his night unless Joey volunteered the information.

JC and Joey sat silently in the back of the SUV. It was only 8 blocks to Joey’s apartment but the ride seemed endless. There was a palpable mix of anticipation and fear in the air and both men hoped they’d breathe a bit easier once they got inside.

Joey unlocked the door and JC stepped inside. He was genuinely impressed with the space that Joey found in the trendy Tribeca neighborhood. It was a simple three-bedroom loft; perfect for a single man who had frequent visits from his daughter and her mother. He looked around and took a deep breath. Joey shut the door behind him and they stood in the entranceway, neither man wanting to break the silence and unsure of the next step.

“It really meant a lot that you came tonight,” Joey said quietly, taking a step towards JC.

“I, just…how did I never see it before?”

“What?” Joey asked in a whisper.

“You.”

That was all it took for the two men to close the space between them. Lips brushing tentatively at first and then more insistently as desire grew.

JC heard a low growl from Joey as he pressed Joey’s mouth open with his tongue and began to explore eagerly. Joey was soft and masculine all at once. Tender but so strong as he held JC with one hand on his back and one grasping JC’s long hair in a tight fist. JC needed more. Now.

JC reached between the two men and deftly undid Joey’s pants wrapping his hand around Joey’s hard shaft. He moved his hand slowly, squeezing harder with each stroke. Another growl and, before JC knew what was happening, Joey was pulling him towards the bedroom, hunger and desperation in his eyes.

They moved quickly to the bed, shedding clothing as they went. Joey moved fluidly over JC, and JC’s hips bucked involuntarily as their erections rubbed against each other. The sensation was almost too much to bear. Joey leaned in to kiss JC and murmured, “Tell me you want to be fucked, JC. Tell me you want me inside you.” All JC could do was moan as Joey kissed him again, twisting the hard nub of one nipple between his fingers. Joey took that as the encouragement he needed and reached over to the nightstand.

Quickly, Joey coated a finger with lube and slipped it inside JC. He saw the need in JC’s eyes and, just as quickly, entered a second digit and began to fuck JC with his fingers.

“Oh. Oh, god. Joe. Please. Please, I need…,” JC begged with no shame in his voice, just lust and desire.

Joey slipped on a condom, coated his aching cock with the same lubricant that was now all over his fingers and JC’s ass, and in one fluid movement, entered JC. It was full and warm and, oh, god, so, so good.

JC gasped as Joey used one hand to grab JC’s wrists and hold them above his head. He started to thrust harder, pounding into JC and sending waves of pleasure through his body as he hit his prostate. Joey used his free hand to pump JC’s cock in the same rhythm as his thrusts and JC knew he was close.

“So long, C,” Joey panted. “I’ve wanted this for so long.”

That was all it took and JC came hard in Joey’s hand, gasping and panting. Moments later, Joey followed and collapsed content and sated on top of JC.

They looked at each other with a new understanding and an eagerness for where this would lead.

JC leaned up and whispered to Joey, “I think I’m going to have to start showing up at more of your shows.”

End.
