It's moving day at work. After many, many requests, we are finally moving spaces. No actual offices for anyone but I'm in a cozy little corner with a lot more privacy. It's such a small thing but when you spend 50+ hours of your week at a desk, it's so important that you make that space yours and as homey as possible.
I just...I'm not an IT person. Really, I'm not. And even the people in our office who have IT experience weren't hired to be IT people.

But when computers break and you are in a small satellite office and there are no IT people available to help, you get stuck dealing with WINS and DNS configurations. And logon validations. And IP addresses. And then network cards are removed. Once you start looking at a mother board you know you are in over your head. (And, personally, I think the name "mother board" is kind of creepy.)

After 90 minutes of this, the computer still doesn't work. So I'm remarkably frustrated. And it isn't even my computer.

Well, yes, crappy, stressful day but there is a bright spot!

Thanks to some help from [livejournal.com profile] liz_w I have three concert pics to pick up at the photo shop around the corner tomorrow. (Crosses fingers that they are ready. I want immediate gratification.)

Plus...sqeeeeeee!!!...much fun with texts today. [livejournal.com profile] powrhug entertained me all morning long with some fabulous smut and [livejournal.com profile] theoria850 sent JC and Joey to welcome me to my new work space. They even brought balloons and a cake. Hugs to you both!

And, [livejournal.com profile] chasezed e-mailed me two fabulous pictures of a giraffe named Mayson. Thank you!

It's nice when you have friends that treat you well and make a blah day a little better. I feel all warm and fuzzy.
