This is a GIP from the gracious
jchalo. More JoeC to play with. That's always a bright spot!
I'm a bit apprehensive about this week. I think, with two new people starting tomorrow, it's the beginning of the end of the current work stress. But it seems that someone upped the ante recently. I'm not sure where the shift came from but responsibilities are..greater. I'm up for it and excited about everything on my plate but I'm just a bit tense about the time management aspect. For the next three or four weeks, I'd love a few extra hours in the day.
Getting into work at 7am means no L&O:SVU or Lyon's Den for me. I just can't let myself watch shows that are on until 11pm. I need to try to get to bed by 10pm. Sleep is critical. And, mmmmm, my bed. Cel and G can both confirm. It's hella comfortable.
I'm also still full from this weekend. I ate. And ate. And ate. A lot of what I ate was pie.
This morning, my step-father told me that I'm a pervert and, if he didn't know better, he'd think I was his actually kid. (This after he comments to me that he hopes the sisters sitting a few rows in front of us in synagogue are actually hot lesbian twins.) We both got a lecture from my mother today. She told us that she understands we have fun finding ways to bring the butt sex into conversations but she's getting sick of it. Personally, I think my step-father was just excited that we got her to say, "the butt sex."
Nature vs. nuture. In this case, I think nurture won.
Oh! Today I met the family who lives in the house my dad grew up in. They said that some of the rooms are still the same and I'm welcome to come over and look around the next time I'm on Long Island. That's huge! My dad's childhood house. I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet but I'm very excited that the offer's out there. If these walls could talk...
EDIT because I'm a big fat dirty liar: Sleep be damned. Rob Lowe and Lyon's Den wins.
