Chelle and I got downtown a little earlier than expected and had to wait for our friend to show up at 12:30am. We were waiting around the corner from the club right by a homeless man sleeping on the street. Now, it's freezing out, fucking freezing, and we're waiting in Chelle's warm car and I can't get past the fact that this man is out there in the cold.

Homeless Outreach arrived not long after we did but the man was
sleeping/unresponsive so there was nothing they could do for him. I took a cab home so I'm not sure if he's still there but, really, where else would he be?

Now I'm home in my warm apartment and I'm about to crawl into my fantastically comfortable bed and I'm grateful. I'm also sad because that man's still out there and he's not the only one. There are thousands of people who are on the street and cold. They were all kids once, some still are, who wanted to grow up to be firemen or teachers or plumbers or rock stars and now, for one reason or another, they're sleeping on the fucking street in zero degree weather.

If I can spend $10 on a drink, I can also make a small donation to The National Coalition for the Homeless. It's not a lot, but it's something. And you can, too. Or you can just go to their site to learn more about homelessness.

It's cold.
Today is the kind of day where I want nothing more than a caffeine and nicotine fix. However, seeing as I don't drink caffeine and I don't smoke, I'm kind of stuck.

RotK has been postponed until tomorrow night seeing as I'll never make it through a 3 1/2 hour movie even if Aragorn is larger than life. So, tonight I'll pack.

Did I mention I'm going to Florida for the weekend? I leave at 7am on Friday and I'm back at 8pm on Sunday. The good is that I'll see my grandfather on Saturday and have a black tie affair on Saturday night. I love getting dressed up. The bad involves yet another airport and another flight. You'd think I'd be other this by now, wouldn't you?
My issue of EW never arrived despite the website's confirmation that my subscription is valid through 12/29/06. 2006! It makes complete sense that the only issue to ever go missing is one that features JC. Fortunately, I can part with $3.99 and get a copy tomorrow. Must have the pretty in my hands!

About the recent memes...I've visited most states but I can't be bothered to code the list. You'll have to take my word for it. As for the anonymous questions...if you have to ask anonymously, it's a safe bet I'm not going to go near your question.

(And on that note, I've never understood the "anonymous" thing anyway. If you've got something to say or a question to ask, own it and put your name on it.)

[livejournal.com profile] tnl directed me to the link for Britney's "Toxic" video. As I commented to him, it's a bizarre combination of Lara Croft meets Famke Janssen meets Debbie Does Dallas. I love the song but I'm less than hot on the video. I can't quite put my finger on what's off but it seems forced. "Stronger" will always be my favorite. I love that chair.

Tomorrow is RotK day!

I just saw, for the very first time, the old, old, very old clip of 'Nsync singng "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" on some German TV program. It is, without a doubt, one of the cutest bits of Timbertick ever. Ever!

And, yes, Justin's a baby and, yes, it would be illegal for Chris to touch him, particularly in the area of the cock and ass, and, yes, I have all sorts of squicks about baby!Timbertrick but this is as cute as it gets with the singing and the looking and the laughing.
