I'll never understand the need for anonymity on LJ, either in comments or individual posts. Everyone has the ability to be both nasty and catty but when you cloak it in the security of an anonymous post or comment, is it anything but cowardly? What's accomplished and what's the goal? To stir things up? To foster paranoia? Or is it simply an inability to take ownership of your opinions and say these things to a person's face?
Despite the stress of hiring, I love, love, love the interview process. It could be tedious but the job candidates always assure that I'm amused.
This go 'round, HR doesn't have time to screen applicants so all of the Monster resumes are arriving directly in my inbox. I thought I had a few days before the flood but, sure enough, I've received 35 since lunch. 35! In three hours.
( The thing is, the applicants clearly have not read the job description )
Read the job description. Please. Please.
I will be elated if I can find 5 qualified people to bring in for an interview. And then the interviews! The number of candidates complete unqualified to sit through an interview is alarming. But fun for me provided, of course, that I actually find someone to hire.
EDIT: I should actually add that every time I go through this process, I'm reminded how awful the job market is and I'm truly frustated for every one of these people who can't find a job. However, I spend a lot of time reading these resumes and it's a waste of my time when people apply for the job even though their resume indicates that they are clearly over or under qualified. Salar requirements alone...We list a salary range. If you want 20K more, don't send your resume.

With 50 icon slots I've got to represent all of my fandoms and so we have Mr. Meloni. I definitely haven't seen enough episodes of Oz. SVU's fantastic but Oz...that's a whole other level of the man.
I think the only thing missing now is HP. I'm so damn picky. Solo Harry? Harry with Ron and Hermione? Solo Hermione? Hermione and Ron? Harry and Draco? So difficult for a girl to decide.
I was misled to believe that Christopher Meloni was in Traffic, the USA mini-series. I visited the website and, apparently, my informant was incorrect. A man that looks striking like Meloni is in the miniseries. That dramatically changes my TV viewing for the next few nights.
I don't know how this much crap can be on TV in one night. I need a rerun of "Scarecrow and Mrs. King." (And, no, Paris was not able to lure me to "Vegas." Though I'm eagerly awaiting a certain someone's recap.)

From Kaelie:
Now it's an April release?
Enough already. Even I'm going to lose interest if they don't release the damn album.
