I went to the park today for Broadway in the Park but they have to cancel 24 hours in advance and so the show was canceled/postponed due to yesterday's storm. I see, however, that Joey will definitely be there for LSOH on July 29th. He missed Broadway in the Park for RENT two years ago by a week. I can't wait to see him this year. It's such a relaxed, fun environment. Everyone's out in the park, eating lunch in the sun, watching excerpts from Broadway shows. If anyone else in the area is planning to come we should all make a point to meet up.
Fortunately, I planned ahead and had some reading with me in the park today. I printed out The Goodness of Their Hearts and I started it on the subway this morning. It's a long Harry/Draco with an interesting premise. (Post Hogwards/Voldemort - Draco has a security company and is protecting Harry - seeker for the Chudley Cannons.) I have my own suspicion about who's threatening Harry but I've got a while to go before I know if I'm right. I wish I could spend the rest of the afternoon reading in the park. And I have a feeling that I'm going to seek out more post-Hogwarts Harry/Draco when I'm done with this. I may have to revisit
daraq's recs.
I booked another trip to San Diego today! A friend is getting married Labor Day weekend at a vineyard in Temecula and I'll be out there from the evening of the Sept. 2nd until the morning of the 7th. I'm so glad to be going back for another visit so soon after the last. I'm also planning a trip to our FL office from 8/2- 8/7. I haven't been since the end of May. This is my longest stretch in a while.
On a chilling note,
dj_writes pointed out the similarity between quotesfrom Senator Rick Santorum (July 14, 2004) and Heinrich Himmler, Reichsfuhrer-SS, head of the Gestapo and the Waffen-SS, Minister of the Interior for Nazi Germany, (February 18, 1937) on homosexuality. The politics of fear is, indeed, frightening.
