I'm burning the CD's for my sister's wedding favors and "Tiny Dancer" is one of the songs on the CD. My sister and her fiance won't replace the Elton John version with Tim's. If it was anything other than her wedding favor I'd swap it out myself and she'd have to deal with it as payment for the 100 CDs but it is her wedding and that's not something I'm going to fuck with. Even for Tim.
A friend had a BBQ tonight and most of the houses on her block have Christmas lights up. It's really weird to see Christmas lights in warm weather. The inflatable snowmen are especially disconcerting. I lived in warm weather climates before and never got used to the holiday season without the snow and cold. This year, though, I'm relishing my 80 degrees despite the double takes when I see reindeer on front lawns.
I have a job candidate coming in for an interview tomorrow at 8am. I don't know what I was thinking. I am absolutely not in any kind of condition to conduct an interview at eight o'clock in the morning. The hiring is coming along well, though. Seven of the eleven positions in my department are filled. Most of the people haven't started yet but things are coming together slowly. The employee pool down here certainly isn't what it was in New York but patience is paying off.
And, in Sally news, she's discovered ants. I cheered her on while she chased, trapped and killed the buggers. She's quite the little hunter. I didn't expect her to eat them, though. Gross. I'd much prefer she hunt for sport.
