* So, here I am, all content and proud in my home ownership. I handled the bidding. The mortgage. The closing. I've got my shit together. I'm good. Then my accountant calls. To finish my taxes he needs another copy of my closing staetment, the cost basis on the funds I sold, and confirmation on whether or not I'm paying my taxes directly or have the money in escrow. Um. Huh??? After a bit of research I figured it out. Mostly. But, wow, I've got some major gaps. Cost basis!?!?
* Anyway. The people who live across the street from me have a band. It's a bad, bad band. Bad. They're heavy on the drums and I think they're going for some sort of reggae sound but it's awful, awful, awful and they practice in the garage CONSTANTLY. I feel like the neighborhood fuddy duddy but, every time I hear them, I want to tell them to keep it down with that newfangled rock n' roll/reggae/calypso noise.
* I was looking at a-thousand-words.org web stats and laaaaaaaughed at search engine key phrases that led to the site. Did you know that searching for "pictures of daniel radcliffe in leather pants" or "harry potter and draco malfoy are gay stories" leads to moonshot? The second one I can understand. The first? Not so much. Unless, of course, it's that whole Dan Radcliffe/Elijah Wood RPS archive thing. ;)
* When I was in San Francisco in January I met two clients who work for a small, but profitable, magazine based in Oregon. I hit it off with them and the three of us went out for dinner and drinks one night and have sporadically kept in touch since. One of the guys was in town for meetings and, even though I really had nothing to do with these particular meetings, my friend Steph bowed out of lunch so I could entertain this client. There's no point to this and except that I have renewed faith in the ability of men and women to forge platonic friendships and I now know an awful lot of about solar power and converting your home to more energy efficient power sources.
* Did any of you get a tracking chip implanted in your pet? The vet offered to do it when I got her spayed and I said yes because I like the peace of mind even though she's a collarless indoor cat who will most likely be eaten by an alligator five minutes after she escapes. But it's nice to know that we'll be reunited should someone find her (unharmed by alligators) and take her to a shelter that has scanning capabilities.
Also? This icon never gets old for me.

A Differential Diagnosis for Green Silk by

House/Wilson (NC-17)
I've been waiting for fic like this to start popping up. It's what's between Wilson and House and it's hot.
Also, randomly, at lunch today I was talking about Mole Day (remember Mole Day?) and I wondered out loud if there's a Pi day. Well, what do you know? Today is Pi day. 3/14. Ha! Who knew? (Actually,
crooked_halo8 did which is how I came to know.)
