is it possible that it's really been 20 years?

This post is mostly about ST:TNG but, to take my mind off the fast, I mainlined Scarecrow & Mrs. King today and I'm in Amanda/Lee heaven. Favorite het pairing ever. EVER OMG. This clip? *dies*

Anyway, scot_ty posted this link to EW's 'Star Trek: The Next Generation': The Top 10 Episodes and it motivated me to make my own top 10 list. It's actually a top 11 because bonuses are always good. I also wonder how this list would change if the show aired now instead of when I was a teenager. Clearly I had a thing for romance. Listed in order of air date because it's impossible for me to rank these:

• s4 The Best of Both Worlds - "I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated." Best cliffhanger in the Star Trek franchise.
  
  
• s4 Future Imperfect - One of my favorite Riker episodes.
  
  
• s4 The Host - Romance, take 1. Beverly tried so hard to resist Odan. Silly woman. (Though I still think she should have given that final host a chance.)
  
  
• s5 The Outcast - Romance, take 2. I love a smitten Riker.
  
  
• s5 The Inner Light - Seeing Picard living another lifetime, a completely different life from the one he chose, struck me and stayed with me.
  
  
• s6 Chain of Command - There! Are! Four! Lights! Gun to my head, this is my favorite episode of the series.
  
  
• s6 Tapestry - Young Picard, the implications of our choices, Q...perfect.
  
  
• s6 Lessons - Romance, take 3. My favorite part of this ep, aside from the Picard romance and the tension with Beverly, was the continuity from "The Inner Light."
  
  
• s6 Second Chances - Two Rikers! I was 16 and in heaven.
  
  
• s7 Attached - I still remember seeing the preview for this episode and exploding in anticipation. The end of the ep broke my heart a bit but it's still a favorite.
  
  
• s7 Lower Decks - Lower decks wasn't even about the primary crew but it remains a favorite. I love the glimpse into the lives of these young officers and seeing the senior officers from their perspective.

I have plans to head into the office for a while tomorrow (out of pure necessity rather than even an iota of desire) and I have to get my lazy ass to the gym.
