Unbelievable.
I woke up at 5am. That's one hour of sleep after getting in from Suede at close to 4am. (Thanks to Shorty for waking up, too. It was so great to finally meet you! We have to go out drinking/dancing/etc. again sometime soon. Maybe next time it will be in Indy.)
We got to Rockefeller Center around 6am and I signed in with Sara who hooked me up with the VIP pass. Since we had at least 30 minutes until the sound check, she told me I could hang out with her so I didn't get cold. Then she decided to upgrade me to Green Room status so I could wander around and get some coffee and food.
The soundcheck was at 6:30am and Tim was fantastic. What else would I expect? He performed all three songs. I was right up there in the front row.
Once he was done, we had almost two hours until the performance so I wandered back inside and checked out the Green Room again. Tim wasn't around but I did bump into Anne, Al and Katie. *g*
At 7:30am, I took my spot outside so I could reserve that front row center spot. (Did I mention that it was raining/snowing and cold as shit outside?)
Tim did a second sound check at 8:30am (just one song) and, at 8:40am came out for his performance. I just adore this man. He is so talented and personable. He interacted with the crowd and seemed genuinely happy to be there. After the performance, he spent almost 20 minutes signing autographs. Very few performers at The Today Show spend that much time. He signed my album cover. Weeeeeeeee!
