The trip downtown for the new piercing has been postponed until this evening. Because I'm productive today and I'd like to keep it that way. When I am down there I'll also stop by The Blue Note and get my tickets for Lou Rawls. Lou Rawls! At The Blue Note! I can hardly believe that I'm going to see him live.
It's Yankees fever in the office. I have a special "World Series Fabric Banner" that I only take out when they're in the series. It's out and on display at my desk. It's a very important superstition kind of thing. We're all a buzz. A woman from the FL office has tickets to games 1 & 2 and is flying up here today.
I spoke to my grandfather today and made plans to see him when I'm in FL in November. I'm down there so often and I've never taken a trip to the east coast to see him. So I'm flying into Ft. Lauderdale to spend the night at his condo and then I'll drive over to Bonita Springs.
He's old and fairly senile and he confuses me with my sister on a regular basis but he's my dad's dad and I just love him so damn much. I would hate to look back later and realize that I could have visited him and made the choice not to. So to Poppy Irving's I go.
It's a good day. It's the first day I haven't had a meeting or a conference call or some other distraction in weeks and weeks and weeks. I'm not even leaving for lunch. And tonight, after my trip downtown, I just want to curl up with some happy/schmoopy/smutty/kinky slash. I'll have to keep working on those binders. Curling up with the laptop doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
