RotK!
I'm struck dumb by the beauty of these movies. The epic grandeur of it all did me in. I shed my first tears as they were lighting the beacons on the mountain. There was subtext and depth in everything. And I finally get it about the Hobbits. Especially the friendship between Sam and Frodo. The emotion I felt for Sam was overwhelming. Everyone was just what they needed to be- brilliant, brilliant casting. And, despite my assumptions to the contrary, they all came out of it alive. I certainly didn't expect Sam and Frodo to be end up on their feet but it made the end that much more satisfying for me.
I still can't get enough of Aragorn. And, when all is said and done, I have little to no use for the actors aside from gratitude for their efforts. I'd much rather hang out with Sam and Frodo and Gandalf and Aragorn and Legolas than with Sean and Elijah and Ian and Viggo and Orglando. (That is, of course, with the notable exception of 'Nsync/LotR crossovers. I will be seeking out that fic like a rabid bunny.)
I had less to say than I thought. I need to process it all and then see the movies again. And I still have DVD extras to look forward to.
eleanor_lavish: We can make plans to meet up next week so I can return your DVD's. Thanks again!
Harry! I can.not.wait for "The Prisoner of Azkaban." June 4th can't come soon enough.
"The Butterfly Effect." I actually want to see an Ashton Kutcher movie. Perhaps the cold front has frozen hell.
"Hidalgo." More rugged Viggo. I'm sold.
Now I need to finish packing because I've got to be up in 5 1/2 hours for my flight to Florida. Back on Sunday. I'm hopeful that my flights will be safe and smooth. Have a good weekend!
