Star Trek. My very first fandom. Hell, back then, I even read het. I was all about Picard/Crusher fic.

[livejournal.com profile] dj_writes, encouraged by Mr. Josh Lyman, asked me for my top 10 episodes of ST:TNG.

In no particular order, my 10 favorite episodes of ST:TNG

Chain of Command Part 2 (season 6): My all time favorite. I love the psychology of this episode from Picard's conversations with the Cardassian to his revelation at the very end.

Attached (season 7): Picard. Crusher. So close. What a tease.

Inner Light (season 5): I think I actually had to watch this episode twice to understand it entirely. It's brilliant.

The Best of Both Worlds Part 2 (season 4): A list is not complete without a Borg episode. And this is the best of the lot.

The First Duty (season 5): While I don't hold the same kind of animosity toward Wesley that others do, I'm not drawn to him. That said, I thought this episode what wonderful. I loved the look at the academy and the choices Wesley had to make.

Lower Decks (season 7): I was so fascinated by the look at lower ranking officers and how they related to the senior officers. It put an entirely different perspective on how I saw the seven.

The Host (season 4): Aside from my enjoyment of a Crusher romance, I was drawn to the issue that Crusher faced at the end of the episode. Was her love for Odan enough to overcome his transformation? Guess not.

Future Imperfect (season 4): Such a great Riker episode. I loved the moment of recognition when Riker recognized Min and the relationship that he formed with the kid.

Lessons (season 6): Picard. A stellar cartographer. Music. Sacrifice. What more do I need?

True Q (season 6): Like Borg episodes, a list is not complete without a Q episode. This was a tough choice but I picked it because I thought it really illustrated the difference between Human and Q. Plus, I liked when Amanda put a hex on Riker.

Love this show.
