Today was a matinee of Sight Unseen with Laura Linney. She really is my favorite actress. In fact, I think she's the only actress that draws me to a movie or play. The play was fantastic. I always find plays so intimate because it's just the actors up there on stage without the break of musical numbers. And this was a small theater which added to that feeling.
After the show, Linney and the lead actor, Ben Shenkman, did a 30 minute Q&A with any audience memebers who wanted to hang around. Fucking coolest thing. Who gets the chance to sit in a small theater, four rows away from their favorite actress, and listen to her joke around and answer questions? I had no idea they'd be doing that after the show. Love her.
Late this afternoon I watched Galaxy Quest for the first time. How have I not seen this film? It's right up my alley. And I think it may be an Alan Rickman holiday weekend because I also rented Dogma to watch on Monday. I haven't seen that one, either.
Tomorrow is the beach and, if I have my way, tonight is a list of fic recs.
