My staff has officially been notified that I'm moving to Florida. I'm still hesitant to tell clients or actually talk about the job itself until I sign some paperwork while I'm in Florida next week. I did, however, have the enjoyable task of telling one of our biggest clients that their product manager is leaving the company effective 10/1 so they're going to have someone new yet again. I thought they might flay me but I'm still in one piece so that's something.
Yom Kippur is tonight/tomorrow so I'm skipping out early to go home and eat a big meal before I can't eat or drink anything for 25 hours. I'm so bad at this. I know the symbolism behind the fasting and I appreciate that but it's awful. For the past two years I've had a glass of OJ before synagogue services. What's the use of atoning for my sins if I'm incoherent? Maybe this year I'll actually hold out for the whole thing. I hope everyone celebrating has an easy fast.
