Tonight is the season premier of West Wing. Critics and naysayers be damned - I am loyal to the end. (And hoping beyond hope that this season isn't crap. I also believe, with a fair amount of certainty, that Matt Santos is the man to fill the void that Sam left in Josh's life.
I went to Best Buy today to buy a cool pad so my laptop won't keep overheating and I left with video editing equipment and a PVR thing so I can record TV shows directly to my computer. I (finally) have the whole screencaps thing down and, when I want to edit a video, I'm pretty sure I know what I need to do but the PVR is trickier. I need to hook it up to my cable which I think means I need to choose between TV on my TV or my computer and I also need some sort of splitter because I have a cable modem.
So, a couple of things. 1) I want technology to be easy. Or, at the very least, I want my purchases to come with a Best Buy tech guy who'll come home with me, hook everything up, and show me how to use it. 2) Making screen caps is tedious. Addictive, yes. But also tedious. Aren't there programs that do some whammy jammy magic and take some of the work out of the process? Are th3 people posting 637 House caps doing them one by one? Because I'll never, ever have that kind of patience. Not for Greg House or Gil Grissom or even pretty, pretty Lt. Colonel John Sheppard.
But here are some minor successes and, uh, caps that are clearly not successes what with the CURSORS in the middle of the caps. Uh, yeah. I need patience and attention to detail.

This hat should not look good on Grissom but it's Grissom and I've learned not to question it.

The team is back together!

More of that darn hat.
