This is the second time this week that television broke my fragile fannish heart.

The betrayal kills me. I'm so disappointed in Toby. He let CJ down. He let the President down. The scene with Babish, CJ, and Bartlett was painful. "Is it possible that I'm astonished and, at the same time, not surprised?" And that whole scene with Bartlett and Toby...I kept thinking about to the campaign against Ritchie when Toby went at Bartlett over his father and, prior to that, Toby's moral indignation over not knowing about the MS. Bartlett's comments were exactly what they needed to be and true to their relationship but it hurt. And CJ. Oh, CJ. The pain in her eyes when she offered Toby's job to Will broke me. The have such history together.

I'm far more focused on Toby this week than the Santos campaign but this line struck me, "You can fire as many of us grunts as you want. You want to know why this campaign is floundering - look in the mirror." And I'm really looking forward to next week's Santos/Vinick showdown.

TOBY!

Thanks to Kiffle for the heads up about the live feed on nbc6.net and between_names for the recap of the first 15 minutes. I was at the end of my rope.
