I'm home from a hopelessly perfect week at sea. The weather was incredible, I love my family, and I want to move to St. Maarten. I really want to move to St. Maarten.

The highlight of the cruise were the Rhino boats we rented on St. Maarten but the surreal portion of the cruise was when I won a karaoke competition and ended up in the finals of the "Caribbean Princess Pop Star" contest. There were video montages, champagne, and "celebrity" panelists offering their opinions on our performances for the 250+ people in the crowd. The four other finalists and I were smoked by a guy who, like Josh Groban or not, sang one of his songs flawlessly. It was fun, though. Fun, a bit nerve wracking, and very, very silly.

I bought myself this Lladro on the trip. It's works perfectly with two other Lladros that my mother and father bought on their honeymoon and have since ended up in my possession. The girl's face is just darling!

I'm pooped and trying to rally for New Year's Eve party tonight. I'm also trying to catch up on LJ. Translation: There's no way I can catch up on a week's worth of posts and I'm terribly behind in my reading so I'd be eternally grateful to anyone who points me toward Yuletide recs, DWNOGA recs, smutmas recs, and/or SGA Santa recs. If I have my way, Sunday and Monday will be lost entirely to fic. (I'm also interested to know if anything earth shattering happened in your lives. The big things that will make me say, "huh?" when you reference them later.)

Here are a handful of photos from the cruise. I could live on these islands so easily.
