Every now and then, and usually after particularly creepy episodes of Criminal Minds, I lie in bed and convince myself that plain old house noises are actually the sounds of killers walking through my home ready to pounce. Rational? Probably not. Terrifying? Definitely. Last night it was bad enough that I called powrhug and asked her to stay on the phone with me while I did a walk through. Turns out there was no one lurking in the shadows or hiding in the closets but I needed to see it to believe it.

It's not exactly a rational fear but most aren't. My head knows that my fear of flying isn't rational either but that doesn't help much when the plane is tearing down the runway.
