With the knowledge that the power issues with the motherboard on my laptop aren't going to improve, I sucked it up and bought a new laptop today. I actually like it a lot but my enthusiasm is dampened by the ever present reality of two mortgages. I'm also wildly underwhelmed at the idea of transferring all of my files and bookmarks and attempting to re-download all of the programs on my current laptop. Maybe, when it arrives on Friday I'll be so lured in by shiny (!) and new (!) that I won't mind the effort. The one thing that's certain, though, is that is that I can not possibly exist without a computer in my home.
Before the shopping trip, I stopped by my house to water the flowers and I met more of my neighbors while I was there. They're all so friendly and I met the neighbor boy who's going to take care of mowing my lawn. I also took the bike out for an inaugural ride around the neighborhood. I really can't wait to move in.
But first is a trip to NY. I fly out tomorrow afternoon, have meetings all day Tuesday and Wednesday, and fly back Wednesday night. I'm sure the trip will be successful and lovely and blah, blah, blah but I'm ready to just stop for a while.
All of this, though, is really so I can unveil a new icon courtesy of monanotlisa. I was in dire need of a Vala icon.
