* I saw The Departed last night and it was everything I expected. (Except I didn't know Martin Sheen was in it so that was an unexpected treat.) Matt Damon is an actor who never comes to mind when I think of my favorites but I consistently love his performances and I haven't seen Leonardo DiCaprio in anything since Titanic so I wasn't sure what to expect but he did a damn fine job. Wow, it was a grim movie. I expected grim but not both of those deaths. I was stunned when Leo took the bullet in the head and Sheen's death was ugly. So, some questions. Do you, too, assume that Leo gave the psychiatrist a note to contact Mark Walberg's character if anything happened to him which is what led to his appearance in Damon's apartment? And who's baby do you think she was carrying?
* I'm still disappointed the Tigers trounced the Yankees but it's always fun to be in a city so excited by the playoffs (especially when it's taken 19 years to get here).
* I watched this season of Project Runway in bits and pieces so I just caught up on Tim Gunn's visits to the final four designers' homes. More than anything, Laura's Manhattan apartment stuck with me. Holy shit - I can't begin to fathom what rent is like on that place. Did she ever share her background? What does her husband do? Is it family money? That place was nice
* My two month MS Office trial is about to run out and I'm hoping to find a version to download. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
* George Clooney is on the cover of this month's Vanity Fair and I've been meaning to scan the interview for days. Sigh. George Cloony.
