saturn | unfinished business...

I said this to Lily - Roslin and Adama in these insane and, somewhat, unprecedented positions of authority and leadership where people expect more of them than normal (flawed) humans are capable of giving. (Particularly Adama.) I love the way they let down their guard with each other. Sometimes it subtle and sometimes it's huge but it's always there. Regardless of the situation, they're visibly more at ease in each others presence. Plus, there's the added bonus that Mary McDonnell fucking GLOWS like no other woman I've ever seen.

So we start with this where they're in the sun on New Caprica believing, maybe, they have a break.

Roslin has the best looks for Adama. It's all, "I've got your number and I like it."

This is just because I dig her glasses and think she's the classiest lady in galaxies.

Adama's completely and totally relaxed.

So is Roslin.

What's utterly fantastic about this is that Roslin, who doesn't want to see Adama hurt even the tiniest bit, is supportive and fierce on his behalf.

This is more of me loving Mary.

What a FUCKED UP relationship. We knew it. But, really. Fucked. Up. Kara's driving most of the dysfunction between them with the glaring exception of Lee's marriage to Dualla (and the cheating and the PINING). The addition of Anders' and Dualla's reactions added a ton of weight to the scenes and they played them damn well. I was hurting for them at the same time I was rooting for Lee & Kara. This show, despite the space battles, is so fabulously character driven.
