- I am, apparently, so anal that bad grammar rips me right out of songs. Example 1: Ain't It Funny by J.Lo. (And, yes, I realize the absurdity in expecting J.Lo to focus on correct grammar. But still.) I pushed you far away/And yet you stayed with /I guess this means/That you and me were meant to be. You and I were meant to be, DAMN YOU. Example 2: Hungry Eyes by Eric Carmen. With these hungry eyes/One look at you and I cant disguise/Ive got hungry eyes/I feel the magic between you and i. The magic between you and me. ME! Right? Isn't it?? How can I focus on Johnny and Baby when I'm distracted by grammatical errors?
- Also, with the anal, I picked up season 9 of SG-1 today and I'm all distraught over the slimline format. Yes, it's easier to store but seasons 1- 8 are all big and clunky and now the entire set doesn't match on my entertainment center. Woe! (Borders had a 40% off a DVD boxset coupon today so that, with my $15.73 in holiday rewards, meant I picked up s9 for only $15 instead of $59.99. Yay! The bargain almost makes up for the lack of symmetry on my DVD shelf.)
- Fic recs:
SGA: Kept By Ourselves In Silence and Apart by The Spike (McKay/Dex, R) Rodney McKay and Ronon Dex , in extremis. Warnings for Torture, Angst, Sex, Other Stuff. It was written back in June and I missed it the first time around. This is a phenomenal story.
HP: The Rematch by ?? (Draco/Snape, NC-17) Draco Malfoy is 25 years old, single, rich, and bored with life, when an old schoolmate invites him into a very exclusive club: a dueling club. Really unique Fight Club premise and great history with Draco and Snape.
HP: What Remains, Else All That Matters by ?? (Harry/Snape, NC-17) An unexpected reunion some years after the war, and many wounds -- old and new -- still need healing. This story is raw and haunting. Harry is fucked up and Snape is just as I want to read him.
