I don't even know where to start.
I knew Daniel was going to turn up as a prior but that didn't eliminate the shock at seeing him that way. Not knowing much more than that general spoiler, I expected a "Daniel as prior" arc as opposed to a single episode but I liked the way they kept us guessing through most of the episode. (I particularly liked the moments when I thought Daniel might be a true believer. It was oddly hot. Hallowed are the Ori.)
The big surprise, though, was Jack! JACK! I had no idea he was in the episode until I saw the credits and it was, hands down, his best appearance since he was a regular on the show. It was almost the old Jack with the snark and the Daniel banter and the irritation with authority (despite the fact that he is authority).
Adria continues to fall flat for me. I blame the actress (and I never watched Firefly so I can't remember her name). She doesn't pull off the subtly evil act for me.
PS. Daniel's eyes were a brilliant shade of blue in those scrubs at the end. Plus hair ruffling!
West Wing writers! There's a West Wing AU ficathon with your name on it. Put Bartlett in office when the Stargate program resumes. Or have Sam bump into Dean in a lonely roadside diner after a long night out on the campaign trail. How about CJ and Laura Roslin after the BSG crew finds Earth!?! OMG, yes! Write that one! CJ and Laura Roslin. It's perfect.
