I was behind in my SGA viewing so I just watched both "Broken Ties" and "The Daedalus Variations ." Any guess which was my favorite?
Oh, RONON. I just love him so much. My heart broke when he was crying (crying!), telling Tyre he was a traitor. Sheppard is so completely his commander. He calls for Sheppard when he's furious and desperate and when he's finally coming back to himself. And Sheppard has such a protective streak. God. I love the dynamic between the two of them. So I thought the episode was awesome and made all the better by those little bits at the end with Rodney in the bath (with bubbles!) and Teyla with her son and Sheppard taking care of his soldier and friend. *sigh*
Oh, I didn't totally hate Woolsey, either. I'm kind of torn about how they're portraying him - strictly a figure head with no real insight or decision making skills - but the bumbling, lost bits did help me warm up to him.
The only thing that wasn't awesome was Ronon's hair. They really need to do something about that. I hated the thought of him without the dreads but I'd prefer that to the current disaster.
I thought the episode was fine but I didn't love it like I loved "Broken Ties." The pace was great and there were perfect little moments (John at Rodney's bedside) but I far preferred last week's episode and, watching them back to back, it colored my perception of this one a bit. Oh, but I was completely amused by the Sheppard/Sheppard stroking.
Today is the release of Stephenie Meyer's, Breaking Dawn and I imagine millions of teenage girls are tucked at home today catching up on Bella's latest shenanigans. For a whole host of reasons, I'm not a fan of the series but I appreciate the phenomenon and I'm having fun watching all of the media coverage.
MTV has some hysterical video here. Go to the second video to see the fans with Twilight tattoos. (I'm sure Meyer was "so happy" when they showed her.) The third video has the midnight moment with all the chanting you could hope for.
