A colleague is pressuring me into training for a half marathon and, honestly, I think I could train for it but I just plain don't want to. First of all, my current run takes 30- 35 minutes which is a digestible chunk of time to schedule. 13 miles? Not so much. I also worry that training for 13 miles will condition my body to expect that level of exercise and, when I pull back, will have a corresponding slow down in my metabolism. Besides all of that, if I do anything else fitness related, I really need to get weight training back into my routine. I've lost muscle mass over the past five months which translates into tricep arm waddle.
