There's just something about a good crossover. I can't resist two characters from completely different worlds who are destined to cross paths and shag if only someone will make it happen. Lately, these three crossover pairings have settled into my consciousness and won't leave me the hell alone...
House/Snape - it's a snark thing
Grissom/House - it's a love of the mystery thing
CJ Cregg/Olivia Benson (or, alternately, Allison Janney/Mariska Hargitay) - it's a sexy, smart woman thing
Of the three, the only one I've come across is House/Snape - most notably Pain and Magic by Violet Quill. Do you see? Even in this one short story it's all so clear.
And can't you just picture Grissom and House? They're brought together by some medical crime mystery and it just works. They give each other the space they both need, they spend hours reviewing their work, and they have hot, hot sex.
Femmeslash isn't usually my thing but I can't get over the thought of CJ and Olivia. Mmmmmmm.Allison and Mariska CJ and Olivia.
I can't forget, of course, the joy of a solid HP/popslash crossover. Wizards and sparkly dancing boys? Priceless. Among my favorites are Double or Nothing by Calico (Fred/George/Lance), The Language of Hieroglyphs by Arsenic (Bill/JC), and Alcheringa Gale (Harry/JC). (There's also that Snape/Chris gen crossover where Snape is hitchhiking and Chris picks him up but, sadly, I can't find the link.) Club_Vertigo has even more HP/pop crossovers posted here.
