I do believe my life is intrinsically linked to 'Nsync. Or maybe it's just because I talk about them frequently.

V is one of my best friends from HS. In fact, she's probably the only HS friend I keep in touch with. V is not interested in pop music or pop culture. At all.

About 6 weeks ago I took her to a Tuesday at Suede. Before I introduced her, I had to explain who Joey Fatone is.

V: 'Nsync?
J: Yes.
V: The group you like?
J: Yes.
V: So why is he here?
J: He's on Broadway in RENT.
V: Huh. Okay. If you say so.

That night at Suede, V met a guy named Justin and they have been dating ever since.

Tonight, when I was out with V, she mentioned that Justin gave her a CD from some guy named Justin Timberlake and isn't he in that group 'Nsync that I like.

*sigh*

J: Yes, he's in the group. (Proceeds to ramble on about the merits of Justin.)
V: So is he the one you like? With the hips?
J: No. That's JC.
V: So the other one is blond?
J: Which other one?
V: Well, there's Justin and JC. Is the other one blond?
J: There are five of them.
V: There are five of them?
J: Yes. Remember? You met Joey? Shook his hand and everything?
V: Oh yeah. But there are really five?
J: Yes. Trust me. I know.
V: Okay. If you say so.

I have a lot of work to do on this one. I really thought you had to live in a cave not to have at least heard of Justin Timberlake. "He dated Britney Spears? Really?" "Yes, V. Big break up. All over the magazines."

Though I do think it's cool that her new guy likes JRT. I bet he was actually at Suede b/c of Joey. Closeted little 'Nsync fan. :b

I saw RENT tonight. It was my first "post-Joey" show.

4 Things.

1) Owen: This goes first. Because Owen was Angel. Owen. Was Angel. Yes, that Angel. That Owen. Apparently Justin hurt his foot so they didn't put him in for Jae. It was, uh, interesting. But he certainly gave it the old college try.

2) Matt: Fine. Matt is great. He's Mark. And a strong actor. But, believe it or not, I like Joey's "Halloween" better. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed "La Vie Boheme," though. With Matt, it becomes much more of an ensemble piece because he doesn't stand out the way Joey did. I was also suprisingly entertained by Matt's "Tango Maureen." But I missed Joey.

3) Sebastian: The kid is glowing. Really. Just glowing. He could not stop smiling when we were talking afterwards. I am so excited for him. And a very funny thing happened with two guys on the street after the show. funny )

4) Pete Jr.: Un-fucking-believable. As we're waiting for lottery, I see the Yukon pull up in front of the theater. I saw Jr. driving and the car just pulled up for a few minutes and some people got out of the car. Then he drove away. Okay. Weird. Then, after the show, who walks into the theater? Jr. We said our hellos and exchanged our Happy New Years. But, wtf? My first post-Joey show and Jr. shows up? So odd.

Bed time.
